Hi, I’m Danny. With StartupGeist, I document the journeys of Berlin startups, investors, and entrepreneurs in Berlin. The StartupGeist Podcast gives you an honest look at the good, bad and ugly. On my blog, I share learnings from over 50 podcast interviews.
What’s StartupGeist about?
StartupGeist stands for …
- Startup = Start. Technology. Singularity.
- Geist (German for Spirit) = Mindset. Self-Awareness. Mindfulness.
If you are an ambitious student, an aspiring entrepreneur who wants to start a startup in Berlin or someone who wants to work for a startup in Berlin and is tired of these boring, age-old goliaths, then StartupGeist is for you.
I welcome you.
3 Key Skills for Being Entrepreneurial
Because of my desire to be an entrepreneur for life, I decided to deliberately practice three entrepreneurial skills:
I consider them empowering ideals that are built on the most important foundation: health. If I’m not healthy, sleep enough and eat well, I can’t focus and won’t be productive over a long time.
To focus on the right things, I need to know what my options are. That’s why I fearlessly learn to deepen my understanding and reflect on my experiences.
A vision is my direction to know where I want to go, where I need to go and where I can go. It’s as important as my health.
As long as I continuously grow and enjoy the journey, my life is meaningful. And if I’m able to use that growth to serve and care for my team members and customers, I can’t help but feel fulfilled.
That’s the Art and Science of Being Entrepreneurial.
Who is Danny?
After being a digital nomad for two years living in Silicon Valley and South East Asia, I moved back to Berlin in 2017. I serve entrepreneurs and startups as a coach and freelancer at Startupbootcamp or Betahaus.
I teach students at the Berlin School of Economics and Law about Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Startup Ecosystems.
So far, I built and sold a startup and successfully launched several lifestyle businesses to experience what kind of businesses and what kind of impact I want to create. Prior to that, I worked in Silicon Valley and published the Startup Genome reports — analyzing 25,000 startups to see what makes startups successful.
Make it a great day,
